Three white men wearing green cardigans with pads on the shoulders tried to burgle a house in St Albans.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses and information after the incident in Drakes Drive between 4.40pm and 4.45pm on Friday, August 22.

During that time one of the men was seen knocking on the front door. When no-one answered, the three offenders forced the PVCu door to the side of the property.

Detective Constable Chris Fisher said: "No entry was gained to the property, however damage was caused.

"The offender(s) realised they were being watched and made off on foot towards Richard Stagg Close.

"We would like to hear from anyone with any information about the attempted burglary."

The men are described as white, of medium build, aged in their 30s.  Two of the offenders were wearing baseball caps.  The third offender had short blonde hair.  All three were wearing green cardigans with pads on the shoulders and dark trousers.

Anyone who saw the attempted burglary or recognises the description of the offenders is asked to contact DC Chris Fisher on 101 quoting F3/14/1153.
