A meeting to discuss issues affecting elderly residents in the St Albans area will be held next month.
The St Albans Older Peoples’ Forum will be held at Wheathampstead Memorial Hall, Marford Road, Wheathampstead from 10am on February 4.
There will be a talk from the Dementia Alliance and St Albans City and District Council will provide an update on the refurbishment of Thomas Sparrow House.
Councillor Annie Brewster, Portfolio Holder for Sport, Leisure and Heritage, will also talk about an upcoming restoration project.
Councillor Brian Ellis, Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: “The forum gives older people a voice about issues that affect them.
“People at earlier events have told us that they found it most useful to hear speakers from the Council and other organisations giving updates on important local concerns. Please come along and make your voice heard.”
There will also be stalls provided by the Centre for Voluntary Service and other groups from the community at the forum.
The Forum is aimed at people aged 60 years and over. Light refreshments will be provided. Some transport is available, if booked in advance.
For more information, or to book transport, contact Nicky Flynn via nicky.flynn@stalbans.gov.uk or call 01727 819518.
