A 35-year-old man died after an incident in a swimming pool at a swingers party in Radlett on Saturday.

Police and the ambulance service were called to a mansion in Theobald Street at 12.32am after a man was found unconscious and not breathing at an event hosted by Radlett Adult Parties.

The man was taken to Watford General Hospital where he later died.

Radlett Adult Parties, run by Richard Stanley and his partner Janet Harrison, featured in the Channel 4 series, Jon Richardson Grow Up, last year, which looked at becoming an adult in today's society.

The company states on its website: "Radlett is one of the UK's more well established and popular swinging parties. Perfect for newbies and experienced swingers alike."

Mr Stanley told The Express: "Everyone is very shocked including me.

"I heard somebody yell that there was someone lying at the bottom of our pool. There were about a dozen people there at the time and about six in the water. I dived in and pulled the man out.

"There was a nurse present too and we gave him first aid."

"We've never had a tragedy like this before. It was horrible to witness and I feel very sorry for the man’s family."

Hertfordshire Constabulary is currently investigating the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a post-mortem examination is due to take place next week.
