Monday, April 27

Daniel Charles Richard Hill, 30, of The Ridgeway, St Albans. On April 5, 2015, used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby. Also, on April 21, 2015, failed to surrender to custody. Fine, costs: £455.

Wayne Larry Crassweller, 33, of Ladies Grove, St Albans. Appeared before court to make a statutory declaration following conviction for speeding: On May 15, 2014, drove in Beech Road, St Albans, at a speed in excess of the 30mph legal limit. Discharged conditionally for six months. Costs: £15. Four penalty points.

The following were convicted of watching a colour television without a licence (fine plus costs in brackets; those marked * were dealt with in their absence): *Ian Haggarty, 46, of Grindcobbe, St Albans (£340); Josephine Horan, 52, of Newgate Close, St Albans (£177); *Chelsea Norwood, 23, of Artisan Crescent, St Albans (£340); Robert Siwak, 43, of Ryecroft Court, Hatfield Road, St Albans (£180); *Michelle Jane Walker, 48, of Roman Way, Markyate (£340).

Tuesday, April 28

Lisa Michelle Degnan, 47, of Harvey Road, London Colney. On October 24, 2014, drove in Frogmore, St Albans, at 38mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £140. Three penalty points.

Ryan Curtis Jarrett, 25, of Tassell Hall, Redbourn. On October 25, 2014, used a vehicle in Harpenden Lane, St Albans, when the nearside rear wheel was fitted with a pneumatic tyre which had the ply or cord exposed. Fine, costs: £170. Three penalty points.

Farooq Ahmed Sheik, 47, of Carnegie Road, St Albans. On October 14, 2014, used a vehicle in Old Harpenden Road, St Albans, in contravention of an order prohibiting the use of that vehicle on that road. Fine, costs: £305.

Thursday, April 30

Tom Murray, 21, of Amberley Close, Harpenden. On July 20, 2014, assaulted a person thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm. Community order made with programme, supervision and unpaid work requirements. Compensation, costs: £2,180.
