A smartphone application has been launched by a council so residents can keep up-to-date with the county’s library services.
The Hertfordshire Libraries app will enable residents to search the libraries catalogue, renew books and find out about upcoming events.
The app also features handy online reference resources as well as displaying opening times and directions to the county’s libraries.
It has been launched by Hertfordshire County Council as part of its Inspiring Libraries project.
Councillor Teresa Heritage, Cabinet Member for Public Health, Localism and Libraries, said: “Hertfordshire Libraries’ app is brilliant.
“It gives everyone the opportunity to access reading, knowledge and information for free on a smartphone or tablet, while at home or on the go.
“This app is just one of the ways our library service is using digital technology to improve the services available for our residents and support digital inclusion.”
Residents can download the application for Apple and Android devices from the App Store and Google Play.
