An 85-year-old man was taken to hospital after an accident in St Albans yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the A405 by Tippendell Lane (pictured in the map below) at 6.36pm after reports of a two car collision.
An 85-year-old man was cut from his car by firefighters and was taken to hospital. A 19-year-old man was also treated for injuries.
After the initial collision, a passing lorry clipped on of the damaged cars.
The road was closed for under an hour as the silver Mercedes e class and silver Ford Fiesta were recovered.
The road was clear by 7.40pm.
