A pizza store in Harpenden is joining in this year’s ITV festive fundraising campaign.

Papa John’s store in High Street will be holding a ‘pizza party’ on Tuesday, December 1 from 12pm until 1pm for ITV’s Text Santa appeal.

This year, the appeal is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children, and everyone is asked to get out their favourite Christmas jumper to ‘do your bit in a Christmas knit’.

The store’s first 100 customers will be able to choose from either a small cheese and tomato or pepperoni pizza, and for a donation may also receive an ITV Text Santa badge.

Store manager Abdul Karami said: “ITV’s Text Santa is a fantastic appeal that raises awareness about an important issue in a fun and friendly way.

“We’re delighted that we can play a part in this national appeal.

“The team will also be wearing their favourite festive jumpers as part of the appeal’s theme of doing their bit in a Christmas knit.”

Papa John’s is setting a minimum donation of £3 for the pizzas with all the money going to charity.

The store will also be donating 50p from all XXL pizzas sold during the festive period as the company aims to raise thousands of pounds for the campaign.
