A group of people have been recognised for a second time with a Royal Horticultural Society award.

The residents at New Forge Place, a leasehold retirement scheme for over 55s in Hertfordshire, were awarded with the highest prize possible in the competition.

The well-kept garden was recognised with the Level 5 ‘outstanding’ certification for its good presentation in the It’s Your Neighbourhood category.

Sandra Williams, scheme manager at New Forge Place, said: “The residents are all very proud of the garden at New Forge Place.

“We look forward to the warmer days when we can all use the space for many of the events we hold at the scheme.”

The group were presented with a framed certificate to display at the scheme. The gardens are maintained by Mark Walker Grounds Maintenance, with a helping hand from some of the green fingered tenants.

A celebration was held last week with food, drink and a singalong accompanied by a talented resident on the piano.
