A group of people tried to break into a youth centre in St Albans.
Between 11pm on July 30 and 3am the following day a group of people attempted to gain entry to Sandridge Youth and Sports Centre in High Street by breaking a skylight.
The offenders then left.
Police Constable Richard Donbavand, from the St Albans Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This sports centre is an integral part of the community and it is disappointing that such a valued asset has been targeted by burglars."
Anyone with information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
