More than 700 people got down in the dirt for a charity fitness day which raised £75,000 for a hospice charity.

Peace Hospice Care is a Watford-based charity working to improve quality of life for patients and families facing a life limiting illness.

Their obstacle course challenge, Push it for the Peace, took place on Saturday (September 24) in Chiswell Green.

Hundreds of runners tackled more than 40 obstacles across five miles in the sponsored event, which is still bringing in donations to help meet its £5 million yearly required budget to continue providing care.

Many local companies took part, including St Albans based SA Law firm and Specsavers Watford, which saw husband and wife Terence and Ruth Ritchie compete against each other.
