The Times has listed David's Bookshop as one of the UK's best independent book stores.
The national newspaper's list of the best independent bookshops was released this afternoon (Wednesday, January 17).
David's Bookshop sits sixth in The Times' list, with The Poetry Pharmacy in Shropshire and Brighton's Kemptown Bookshop taking first and second spot.
The store has been trading on Eastcheap, Letchworth, since 1963 and also features a café and music record shop.
Sarah Martinelli comments in The Times: "Started by the local Armitage family more than 60 years ago, this bookshop was named after their son, David.
"It has a large second-hand book section, and you can see people chatting and browsing the large selection on the pavement stands.
"David’s is at the heart of Letchworth, true to the town’s historic ethos of Ebenezer Howard, its founder."
The store's website continues: "Our passion is to bring our customers the very best in new and second hand books, music, cards and games.
