St Albans Bowling Club's Ladies defeated Batchwood 36-27 in their three rink friendly.
Top rink for St Albans was Pauline Gardiner, Eileen Englebright, and skip Joyce Wilson with a 13-4 scoreline.
In the first round of the District Singles competition Kevin Hull beat Terry Turner-Boutel from Batchwood BC 21-3. Ted Salvidge lost to Tony Redford from Harpenden 21-6, Dave Church lost to Keith Ames from Welwyn Garden City 21-14 and Steve Wilson beat A Langley away at Harperbury 21-17.
In the District Officers Singles first round Dave Church lost to Potters Bar's David Salmon 21-13, Steve Wilson was beaten by Townsend's Peter Thomson 21-10 and Ken Budd overcame Hatfield's Richard Lush 21-7.
In the National Mixed Fours the St Albans representatives, Pauline Gardiner, Bob Pomeroy, Tricia Gascoine, and John Bartlett lost to a strong Harpenden team 24-12.
St Albans entertained Baldock BC in a four rink friendly triples match winning on three of the rinks 76-55. Top rink was John Saguiez, Carole Ewer and skip John Bartlett (26-13).
On Sunday St Albans travelled to Luton to play Wardown Park in a four rink friendly triples match but came off second best losing 72-63.
Top rink for St Albans was Andy Kay, Ted Salvidge, and skip Rod Perks (19-15).
