St Albans middleweight Myley Cash faces the toughest test of his promising ring career next month.

Cash meets Alistair Warren at York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday, June 4.

Warren is a tough-as-old-boots Yorkshireman who’s been in with top fighters like Chris Eubank Junior.

Cash, who made a winning return from a serious hand injury last month, describes the match as “a step up" as he looks to build on his comeback.

He said: “I needed to be tested over the longer distances and this is a good fight for me.

“I really want to push on this year.

“Every time I feel I’m getting somewhere, I get injured, but if I win this next fight and again in July I’m hoping for a title shot in September.

“I want to be around the top ten by the end of the year and that can happen – if I keep winning.”

Cash reckons he’s already among the best six-round fighters in Britain.

He said: “Over six rounds, there are only a couple of fighters – Billy-Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Junior – I would be worried about.

“I know I have the boxing ability. I’ve been boxing for a long time and I’m cute, I’m smart.

“But there’s a big difference between fighting over six rounds and 12 rounds.

“For me, it’s all about building my fitness and strength. There’s no point winning the first six rounds of a 12-round fight – then losing the fight.”
